Time-blocking is a fun calendar-planning method that sets you up to get things done. Plan the future timestamp of your achieved daily/weekly goals using a few clicks of the mouse, (or the relaxing strokes of a colorful pen/marker).
This article from todoist.com lays out the whole process so well – great read. I’m implementing main points to set myself up to survive and THRIVE in the busy dream world of motherhood, entrepreneurship hood , and teacher hood.
For some inspiration and example of what the finished product can look like, check out this calendar example of a time-blocked connection-centric agent.
This agent has a business model that is centered around providing her clients with better information, better communication, and better representation. The mornings are reserved for caring service, craft practicing, and brand solidification. There is also of course space for working out, a fun lunch and weekly education – it’s about being good to your clients AND YOURSELF 🙂
Notice that the “time blocks” are really geared towards tasks you need to get done. Think of yourself as being accountable to the colors – you set these goals to complete, and because they are on your calendar, you will do them. If you find yourself distracted or straying from the tasks, look at the colored boxes and just remind yourself what you need to do.
I used Google Calendar to create this example calendar, but I also think that having a paper planner is SO MUCH FUN. What’s your favorite type of planner – digital or paper?! Come find us on Instagram and tell!
XOXO,
Sarah
